Incident 047/2025

Wednesday evening, 2nd July at 22.10hrs we were contacted by Lancashire Police to assist with a search in the Hornby area for a vulnerable 68-year-old female who had been missing from home for some time.

Team members, along with our neighbour colleagues the Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) who are based in Clapham attended the search which included searching areas of lowland, river and wooded areas.

Thankfully, after a long period of time one of our Team search parties found the missing person in a wood area safe and well, although suffering from the cold.

With checking the missing person over and consulting with the Ambulance and Police, she was allowed home with her family to recover.

This was a team find in the early hours of the morning that involved 27 volunteers from Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue and the Cave Rescue Organisation, the search took over 7 hours to complete.

We wish our missing lady a speedy recovery and give our best wishes for the future.
