Incident 058/2025
At 17:25 on 23rd September 2025 thew rescue Team were called out to assist a young male mountain biker who had collided with a tree while mountain biking in the woods at Healey Nab.
Fortunately, one of our Team members was out running nearby and quickly arrived on scene, carrying out an initial medical assessment and keeping the young rider warm until more Team members arrived.
We bandaged his shoulder injury and helped him safely out of the woods, he then went to hospital for further care and medical treatment.
13 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue were involved in this incident which took 2 hours to complete.
We wish the young man a speedy recovery and hope he’s back out the trails soon.
