Incident 058/2022

The rescue Team were called on Tuesday 13th December 2022 by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to assist with a patient that was inside a ambulance that was stuck and stranded in snow and ice in the Ashnott Farm area in the Ribble Valley.

13 volunteer team members were involved who attended on scene with winter clothing, vehicles and expertise to extract the female patient onto our mountain rescue Bell stretcher then placed in our 4×4 vehicle and taken to the road head where another ambulance was available for the transfer, where Paramedics then took over treatment and casualty care.

The stranded ambulance was later recovered by a friendly farmer with his tractor and chains, so that ambulance could return into service.

All in all, a very good multi-agency incident with everyone safe.
