Incident 070/2021

The rescue team were called by Lancashire Police very early on Boxing day (06.45hrs) for assistance with 3 people who were stranded in their car in snow conditions just north of Slaidburn. They had been reported as being alone since 01.00hrs – with no reported injuries apart from cold and wet (potential Hypothermia) trying to get their car out of the snow and ice on the road.

The rescue team responded with 3 of our 4×4 vehicles from from our Garstang and Dunsop Bridge bases and were quickly on scene despite the poor weather conditions. With the help from a local farmer who used his tractor, the car was recovered to safe area and the 3 individuals were checked over by our team medics, reporting back to the Police that they were just cold and required some warming up.
