The rescue Team were re requested by Lancashire Police on Friday 24th July to assist and continue with the search effort to locate and find David Henry, who was missing from home in the Bamber Bridge area.
With Team members deploying from midday, the search area was expanded and included some difficult terrain that had to be overcome.
With members of Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (3 search dogs) and members of Bolton Mountain Rescue we had over 30 volunteers out on the the ground during the 11 hour search, unfortunately late in the day, one of search dog teams located a body thought to be David. On notifying the Police and handing over the situation, the rescue Team then withdrew and stood down.
35 volunteers of the mountain rescue community from the north west contributed to this search which included 3 search dogs.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to David’s family and friends during this very sad time. We were very thankful for all the well wishes we received from his friends during our 2 days searching.
