Incident 057/2022

On Saturday 10th December 2022, at 7.30pm, our Team Leader was contacted by Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team to assist in a long and potential difficult search in the Middle Moor area, near Oxenhope in Calder Vale, Yorkshire.

4 males, aged 23 years old were lost and were suffering from Hypothermia symptoms, with one being reported with a lower leg injury.

Team members joined members of Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) search dogs, Bolton MRT, Holme Valley MRT and Rossendale MRT in the search were all 4 males were safely walked off and into safety of mountain rescue vehicles and handed over to the statutory services.

The weather was described as awful where helicopters and the emergency services were unable to carry out any evacuation.

Post incident, all 4 young males have been confirmed as safe and well, all the better for their experience in the open moor lands.
