Incident 001/2023

The rescue Team were requested by Lancashire Police (Clitheroe Station) to assist in a search for 24 year-old female who was potentially suicidal (potential OD) in the Langden Intake area, near Dunsop Bridge.
Team members, living or working nearby were very quickly on scene where the vulnerable young person was identified to be in the Mere Clough area, just off Langden Brook. The Police helicopter was also on scene and spotted the vulnerable female in the Mouse Hill / Mere Clough area and Police Officers along with a local farmer/Game keeper, approached and then recovered her back in a vehicle to Langden Intake, where Police Officers and then Mountain Rescue volunteers checked her over.
 
The rescue Team then stood down knowing everyone had done their part in rescuing the vulnerable female back to safety.
 
21 Volunteers of Bowland Pennine MRT attended, along with Police Officers from Clitheroe and the National Police Air Service helicopter.
The search then rescue operation was completed in just under 3 hours.
