Incident 037/2022
At 12.50 hrs on Sunday 4th September 2022 the rescue Team were requested by Lancashire Constabulary to search for a high risk missing 31-year-old male who had been missing since the day before.
With the search area including parts of the river Yarrow which flows through Leyland, our search areas included part of the river.
The rescue Team started searching the local area (delayed by the traffic chaos and delays around Preston) and completed search areas in a timely manner, however, near the end of the day Team members located the missing person, sadly, he found deceased.
The Police were then informed, and we handed over the search area and we withdrew from the area for debriefs and updates.
Bowland Pennine MRT is a volunteer organisation and charity, during this search which took over 8 hours to complete we had 25 mountain rescue volunteers involved, in total over 200 hours were logged during this incident.
Our condolences go to the family and friends of the deceased.
