22nd December 2025 we were request by our neighbour Rossendale & Pendle MRT to assist with the search for a male reported the previous day as swimming in the River Ribble at Marles Wood. It had been reported that he had gone under the water and not resurfaced.
Unfortunately, later in the day the Police discovered a body in the water which was later recovered.
14 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue assisted with this search, our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the deceased.
