Incident 050/2022

Saturday 8th October 2022 just after 10pm, we were contacted by Lancashire Police to assist in an urgent search around the Silverdale area for a missing 17-year-old female with severe Autism.

The rescue arrived in Silverdale just before midnight with our incident control vehicle and 20 team members. After our Team Leader had spoken to the Police and the missing female father, the rescue team set out to search areas of Silverdale where the missing 17-year-old could be.

Within hours of attending, we requested 3 Mountain Rescue search dogs who searched areas including the quarry and golf course, but she wasn’t located at this point.

With the early morning upon us, we then requested the return of the Police helicopter service NPAS to search the local area.

After searching extensively for over 12 hours which included a team shift change, the good news came in that our missing person had been located safe and would be re-united with her family.

Post incident, we received a lovely message from the family thanking us in helping to find their daughter.
