Incident 010/2024

On Sunday 17th March 2024, at just after 12 noon, we were requested by our neighbouring rescue team, Rossendale & Pendle to assist with a spot pick up at Salesbury, on the bank of the river Ribble.

Both rescue teams attended to help and assist, with reports of a lady who had a suspected broken ankle. The location, which due to the recent rainfall, had soaked through the ground and made it all boggy and difficult to travel across.

Once the lady was assessed by Mountain Rescue and was made stable, both rescue teams stretchered her off to a nearby Ambulance at the road head.

We wish the lady a speedy recovery from all the team at both RPMRT and BPMRT, hopefully she will be out and about very soon.

12 volunteers of Bowland Pennine MRT assisted and attended this incident which took over 3 hours to complete.
