Incident 016/2024

The rescue Team were requested by the North West Ambulance Service on Thursday 2nd May 2024 to attend to a fallen 65-year-old male climber at Denham Quarry.

The climber had sustained injuries to his shoulder and there was a query on his level of conscious. On arrival, the casualty was assessed along with Paramedics and was then evacuated using a mountain rescue stretcher to the road head. The casualty was then transferred over to the ambulance and then taken to the local hospital.

12 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were involved in this incident which took approximately 3 hours 40 minutes to complete.
