Incident 006/2023

The rescue Team were requested by Lancashire Police on Sunday 22nd January 2023 to rescue an 80-year-old male walker who had had a medical incident and was described as unconscious on Fair Snape Fell, the Trough of Bowland.

14 volunteer team members of Bowland Pennine MRT along with local Police Officers and the North West Air Ambulance crew attended and made the casualty safe and warm. After an initial assessment by the Paramedics of the Air Ambulance, the mountain rescuers then stretchered our male walker on a mountain rescue Bell stretcher the 1/2 mile across undulating ground to the waiting Air Ambulance aircraft where he was then transferred into, then flown to Preston Royal Infirmary.
