Incident 016/2023

The rescue Team were requested by the North West Ambulance Service to attend and assist with a 77-year-old male who had fallen and had potentially broken some bones and was confused.

The incident, which took place in the afternoon on Tuesday 25th April 2023 was on the north side of the River Lune near Halton village.

Team members quickly arrived on scene where it was determined our casualty was in a difficult position down a steep bank which resulted in an extraction using drag ropes and a mountain rescue Bell stretcher where our casualty was then safely transferred to a suitable roadhead where the Ambulance team took over.

16 volunteers of Bowland Pennine MRT were involved in this rescue which took just over 3 hours to complete.
