Incident 002/2021

On Sunday 3rd January 2021 mid afternoon Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team (BPMRT) received a request from the Lancashire Police that a 4 year old boy and his father were stuck in a bog on Hare Appletree Fell just off Jubilee Tower. The rescue Team quickly mobilised and were on scene with the family, provided warmth and re-assurance and some jelly babies and escorted them to safety at Jubilee Tower, where they were warmed up in a mountain rescue Team Landrover. Having no injuries, apart from mild hypothermia they were advised to seek further medical assistance to ensure they were okay. With Team members at Jubilee Tower just in case a carry off or search was required, we stood down. However, as we were dispersing, another callout came in from the North West Ambulance Service requesting our services in Worden Park (Incident 003/2021).
