Incident 026/2025
On Sunday morning, 11am on 26th April 2025 the rescue Team were requested to attend and assist with a 16 year-old male who had taken a fall from his mountain bike at Healey Nab, a well-known mountain bike trial.
The young casualty was reported to have hit his head on impact and was having seizures that required urgent medical attention.
As Team members arrived, along with the Air Ambulance and Paramedics the casualty was placed into the helicopter and he was flown into hospital where he could receive further medical treatment.
11 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team responded to this incident which took 3 hours to complete. We also requested our neighbours Bolton Mountain Rescue Team to attend and assist.
We wish our young casualty a quick recovery and all the very best for his future.
