Incident 029/2025
Sunday evening, 4th May 2025 we were called by the North West Ambulance Service to attend Higher Penwortham were Police Officers and members of the public were assisting a 78-year-old male who had been missing for 4 hours and was located in a ditch after he had fallen and had injured himself.
Once Team members arrived, he was rescued, medially assessed and then placed into a Blizzard blanket and our mountain rescue casualty bag (large sleeping bag) before being placed onto our mountain rescue stretcher, we then carried our casualty to short distance to the road head and handed him over to the Paramedics.
16 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team attended this incident which took just under 3 hours to complete, also on scene were Officers of Lancashire Constabulary and Paramedics of the North West Ambulance Service.
