Incident 020/2023

On Thursday afternoon, the 18th May 2023 our rescue Team was requested by the North West Ambulance Service to attend to a lady trampled by a horse, she had suffered a suspected fractured femur and was in considerable pain.

The rescue team, alongside the Paramedics of the North West Ambulance Service treated her injuries before she was stretchered to safety in our mountain rescue Bell stretcher to a waiting land ambulance at the road head.

The incident lasted over 2 hours and involved 20 volunteer members of Bowland Pennine.
 
This was the third call-out this week after a quiet spell.
 
We wish her a speedy recovery and hope she is out riding again soon.
