Incident 030/2022

Strange and bizarre Incidents do occur and for the case of incident 30 of this year, Team members had left our rescue base in Garstang and were en route to the lake District where we were covering the 46th running of the Borrowdale fell race when they stopped in Lancaster for some Fish and Chips when a male collapsed.

The 2 Team members attended the male outside of the Chip shop who had trauma injuries to his head. It was very clear the injuries required the services of the North West Ambulance Service so they were requested to attend. On arrival of the Paramedics, the Team members handed handed over the casualty and then carried out their journey to the Lake District, after buying their Fish and Chips of course.

It just goes to show, that our skills can be required not just in wild and remote places, mountain rescue is more than just mountains these days.
