Incident 054/2025

Thursday 21st August 2025 at 8.44pm, the rescue Team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service to attend to a 64-year-old male who had fallen from his mountain bike after hitting a tree stump.

Team members were quickly on scene assessing the situation and the male casualty had an open wound on his left shin. With early stages of Hypothermia settling in, we used a Blizzard blanket for protection from the environment and treated his wound.

The rescue Team then stretchered to male casualty off the hill to a point where we could hand over to Paramedics at the road side.

15 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were involved in this late night rescue and we wish our casualty a speedy recovery.
