Incident 002/2024

The rescue Team were called by the North West Ambulance service on 2.40 pm on Tuesday 16th January 2024 where 2 motorist were stranded in their car due to snow and ice on the Lythe Fell Road, just north of Slaidburn.

With the weather conditions described as very poor due to the snow, ice and temperature falling,  the rescue team deployed in our team vehicles to assist them.

Thankfully, as we were on route, we received the good news that a local farmer had managed to pull them free, so we all stood down and returned back to base.

13 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue were involved in this rescue and we wish the occupants all the very best for the future.
