Incident 005/2023

The Team Leader was called directly by Lancashire Police on Wednesday 18th January 2023 at 12.52hrs explaining that a group of walkers in the Parbold area were stranded on a hill and one of their party was experiencing difficulties. A female walker had collapsed and had a weak pulse .

The rescue Team were immediately put on standby while further information was being being gathered, then the team deployed.

However, as team members were arriving we stood down as the unwell female walker had been helped to a car by her fellow walkers and was then transported to a local hospital.

Although a short operation lasting 30 minutes, 12 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team had responded.
