Incident 006/2025
Sunday 12th January 2025 at 14.44 hrs, the rescue team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service who had fallen on ice while walking on Parlick in the Trough of Bowland.
As Team members were responding our Incident Controller phoned the casualties wife and it was determined that he had potentially broken his left ankle, however he was comfortable and in good spirits.
Once Team members arrived on scene we carried out a medical assessment, splinted and immobilised his ankle then sledged and carried him in our Bell mountain rescue stretcher downhill to the road head where a land ambulance was waiting.
Once we transferred our casualty over to the ambulance crew, our rescue team then stood down.
16 Team members, all volunteers were involved in this incident which took over 3 hours to complete. We would like to thank both the off duty Paramedic and Fireman who were on scene and helped with the incident.
We wish the casualty and his wife all the very best for the future and we hope the injured male quickly recovers.
