Incident 005/2024

On Friday afternoon, at 4.55pm on Friday 16th February 2024 the rescue team were requested by the North West Ambulance Service to attend to fallen motorcyclist who had been injured in the remote area of the Salter Fell Track, just north of the village Slaidburn.

Team members and vehicles were quickly on scene, although we were not given any injury details beforehand, the rescue team carried out a full assessment and determined that he could be transported to a safe area in one of our mountain rescue off road vehicles to an awaiting land ambulance, where a handover then took place and the rescue team then stood down, returning our vehicles back to base.

We wish our casualty a speedy recovery.

12 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team along with 3 team vehicles participated in this rescue which took nearly 4 hours to complete.
