Incident 020/2022

The Team were called by the North West Ambulance Service for a climber who had fallen in the Silverdale area.

The 73-year-old male had fallen 20 feet in the Wood Well area and had suspected back and spinal injuries. Helimed was already on scene and they required Mountain Rescue to assist with the difficult extrication. 8 Bowland Pennine and 5 Kendal SMRT Team members assisted and the casualty was safely transferred into Helimed and the casualty was flown into Preston Royal Infirmary where his injuries could be confirmed and treated.
