Friday 3rd October 2025 at 19.39hrs whilst the rescue Team were on an exercise near our Head Quarters at Smelt Mill, an exercise casualty who was accompanied by a Team member became unwell.
The team exercise was halted as the casualty vomited and was felling unwell. It was determined after an assessment that the casualty was type 2 Diabetes and he hadn’t eaten since lunchtime, some 7 hours ago.
After a short period of consolation which included medical treatment, we walked the casualty off the fell and into our HQ where recovery could be completed. he then went home for a full recovery.
