Incident 004/2026
Sunday 11th January 2026 at 12.15pm the rescue Team were called by the North West Ambulance Service to attend to a 46 year-old female has had fallen and heard something snap in her leg, the caller was unable to get the casualty up and unable to get any help to assist. They were described as half way down a slippy muddy track and the patient had been on the floor for approximately 30 minutes.
Once the rescue Team were on scene, with the female patient conscious it was observed that the patient had a deformed left ankle, with concerns around Hypothermia as it was a very exposed location she was placed into one of our casualty bags after we splinted he ankle. The rescue Team then stretchered her cross country to the road head where she was then handed over to the Paramedics of the Ambulance service.
12 volunteer mountain rescuers were involved in this rescue that took over 4 hours to complete.
