Incident 054/2022

On Wednesday afternoon the 16th November 2022, at 2pm the rescue Team was requested by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with the extrication of an injured 25-year-old male mountain biker who had fallen down some steep banking.

On arrival, it was clear the casualty was intoxicated and was difficult to deal with but 20 mountain rescue volunteers, the Air Ambulance and Paramedic crew, he was safely removed from danger and evacuated on our mountain rescue vacuum mattress and Bell stretcher.

He was then transferred over to the Ambulance Service for further treatment and the rescue Team stood down, unfortunately our casualty had soiled all of our equipment so our time on this incident was extended so a full De-contamination could be carried out.
