Search, Bolton-le-Sands

Search, Wolf Fell

Incident 056/2021 –

On Tuesday evening on the 5th October 2021 at approximately 7.50 pm, we received an alert from the Lancashire Police that we were required to assist and help in a multi-agency search for a 71 year old female with dementia, who had gone missing earlier in the day around the Bolton-le-Sands area. 20 Bowland Pennine MRT team members attended overnight, along with Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, Mountain Rescue search dogs, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, RNLI, Coastguard and the Lancaster Area Search and Rescue. The search went into a second day, and thankfully, in the afternoon on the Wednesday she was located safe and well.

This was a multi-agency search covering an area that was wet and difficult to search, we are thankful for all the resources that attended and we wish the 71 year old female our best wishes for the future.
