Incident 043/2021 – On Sunday evening at 17:45 Bowland Pennine MRT were called to assist with a motorcycle crash near our Smelt Mill base at Dunsop Bridge. A member of the public had raised the alarm with a team member there, and we alerted the North West Ambulance Service. The team member mobilised the team’s Land Rover ambulance based at Smelt Mill and gave first aid. They were soon joined by other team members and the site secured for HEMS 75 from the North West Air Ambulance service. The male rider was treated for potential C-spine, lower back and pelvic injuries. He was air lifted to Royal Preston Hospital by the Helimed helicopter.
